An episode of the body contouring podcast Today In Plastic Surgery (T.I.P.S.) features Peter Rubin, M.D. discussing plastic surgery options for people who have experienced extreme weight loss. One of his patients shares her experience dropping from a size 58 to a size 18 through bariatric surgery, and then to a size 8 through a series of body contouring procedures. Liposuction

For some people, looking and feeling good mean having a fit, well-proportioned body. Sometimes even a strict diet and rigorous exercise regimen are not enough to conquer stubborn areas of excess fat. If you are in search of smoother or better-proportioned body contour, liposuction from The Plastic Surgery Group may be your answer.

Liposuction (or Lipoplasty) is the most common cosmetic surgery procedure. It is an excellent treatment for areas of localized fat which are resistant to diet and exercise. The abdomen, hips, love handles, outer thighs, knees, ankles and neck are particularly amenable to liposuction.

Tummy Tuck

In today's society having a flat stomach is important to a physically fit appearance. Many people labor intensively to achieve this goal. Healthy diets, strenuous workouts and abdominal gadgets all seem promising at first, but do little to eliminate accumulations of excess fat and sagging skin in the abdominal area. If you are bothered by appearance problems, a tummy tuck (or abdominoplasty) from The Plastic Surgery Group may be a good choice for you.

A tummy tuck is a commonly sought after procedure, especially following pregnancy. Pregnancy causes the abdominal skin and muscles to stretch, and they often fail to regain their original tone after the baby is born. A tummy tuck is an excellent procedure to help you achieve your desired abdominal tone and help remove some of the stretch marks that result from pregnancy.

Body Lift

Have the negative effects of gravity or massive weight loss left you with a surplus of sagging skin and soft tissue in the outer thigh, inner thigh, buttock or stomach area? For many people, eating right and exercising is not enough to replace the contour that time and gravity have taken away. Our six board-certified plastic surgeons at The Plastic Surgery Group are here to help you defy the laws of aging and gravity.

Lower body lift surgery has been met with increasing popularity since its development over the past several years. Lower body lift involves re-suspending the skin and soft tissues of the thighs and buttocks and can result in a smoother and more youthful appearance.

Spider Veins

Many people have problems with the development of unwanted and unattractive small visible veins on their legs and face. These veins tend to increase throughout life and are often related to occupations involving long hours on the feet. Common places for development of these veins are around the knees, thighs and ankles. Some people also develop them on the face, usually around the nose. The spider veins can either be blue or red depending on how they receive their blood supply.

There is no association between spider veins and serious medical problems. Spider vein treatment is considered purely cosmetic.
