Cheek Reduction (Buccal Fat Reduction)

The fat in the cheek area is referred to as buccal fat. Patients with excessive deposits of fat in the cheek area, the so called “chipmunk cheeks,” seek reduction of the cheek area.

The Procedure:

A small incision around the cheeks and gums is made to expose the main cheek muscle. Excess fat is removed and the incision closed.
